What is a urinary tract infection?
A urinary tract infection (UTI) is when any part of the urinary system becomes infected. The urinary system includes your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Most UTIs involve the lower urinary tract, your bladder and urethra.UTI symptoms
Not all UTIs will have symptoms, but when they do, they may include:- Constantly feeling the need to urinate
- Burning sensation whilst urinating
- Needing to urinate more often
- Passing smaller amounts of urine
- Cloudly looking urine
- Signs of blood in urine
- Strong-smelling urine
- Pelvic pain
