Get prescribed appliances such as stoma bags, catheters and dressings supplied on the NHS, packed discreetly
Appliance dispensing is the supply of prescribed items such as stoma bags, catheters, wound dressings and other appliances. If your GP or hospital specialist has prescribed an appliance for you, our team at Easthampstead Pharmacy can dispense it on the NHS, in the same way as any other prescription.
What happens
We receive your prescription and order in the items you need. Some appliances are kept in stock and others are ordered for you, so we will let you know when your order is ready to collect.
Living with an appliance can take a little getting used to. If you have questions about how an item is used, how often it should be changed, or what to do if something is not working well for you, please ask. We can also talk to your GP or specialist nurse on your behalf if a change to your prescription may help.
Who it is for
- Anyone with a prescription for an appliance from their GP or hospital team
- People who would like the same pharmacy to look after both their medicines and their appliances
- Carers and family members collecting on someone else's behalf
Privacy
Appliances are personal, and we treat them that way. Items are packed discreetly, and we have a private area if you would prefer to talk away from the counter.
To arrange this, speak to a member of our team in the pharmacy or give us a call.
