Protect yourself against seasonal flu with a vaccination from our trained team, in around ten minutes
Flu can leave you feeling very unwell for a week or more, and for some people it leads to more serious illness. Our private flu vaccination service at Easthampstead Pharmacy gives you a straightforward way to protect yourself before and during the winter months. Appointments are given by trained healthcare professionals, at a time that suits you.
What the flu vaccine does
The vaccine helps protect against the most common strains of flu virus circulating each year. It works by helping your immune system recognise and fight the virus. Because flu viruses change regularly, a vaccination every year is recommended for continued protection.
Who it is for
- People who are not eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine
- Anyone who would prefer quick, convenient access
- Those wanting to reduce their risk of illness and complications
- People who want to help protect vulnerable friends and family
If you are eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination, you can find details and book through the NHS. If you are unsure which applies to you, just ask our team.
What happens at your appointment
Your visit usually takes around ten minutes. We will have a short chat to check the vaccine is suitable for you, give the vaccination, then offer aftercare advice. You may be asked to wait a few minutes afterwards as a precaution.
Most side effects are mild and pass quickly, such as a sore arm, a mild temperature, headache or tiredness. Serious side effects are rare, and we will talk everything through with you beforehand.
